Borrow some fun!

From a pirate ship and a t-ball set to a popping lawn mower and toy trucks, we've been enjoying our neighbourhood toy lending library for a couple months now. There are so many great reasons to use your local toy lending library. Here are my top five:
  1. Variety - With hours of play happening each day, a kid could easily get tired of what's in the toybox. Borrowing a few new toys each week refreshes playtime.

  2. Makes sharing fun - Having to say goodbye to a much-loved toy is no fun. Well, not until your child gets to pick out an ever better one! The process of returning and signing out new toys helps kids understand sharing and taking turns.

  3. Prevents toy clutter - If I bought every toy I wanted for my kid, we'd soon need a traffic cop to direct us from the living room to the kitchen. Borrowing instead of buying keeps the toy clutter to a minimum.

  4. Try before you buy - Toys are like vegetables; you can't force your kid to like 'em. By borrowing from the toy lending library, I learn which toys my son is totally into and which ones are as interesting as celery. If he finds a toy he really likes, I'll think about buying him one.

  5. It's green - Reduce, reuse, replay!
